Particularly impressed with Pete's personal experience of real first aid that backed up an incredibly thorough medical knowledge, and excellent delivery. He managed a group superbly that had a mixture of 'never done a 1st aid course' to some of the most experienced British Mountain Guides in the country. Pete is far more than someone who has been on a first aid trainers course! Highly recommended.

We all enjoyed the course. It was well run and presented in a way that suited a whole range of learning styles. We were all kept active and the practical sessions were relevant. I would reccomend this course to anyone. Petes delivery was interesting and his experience in the outdoors gave real credibility to the theory presented.

A first-rate course. Friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and engaging instruction. The trainer left us with a methodical and professional approach to treating an incident. A proper pub lunch made it a sociable way to learn. Thoroughly recommended.

Well considered, practical and enjoyable First Aid course aimed specifically at those taking part in outdoor activities. Not just a certificate, something that might genuinely help you if faced with an emergency situation on the hills.

Just a quick word to say how much I enjoyed the first aid course. I guess I am like many clients who take part for NGB validation - I booked because it is a requirement of my BASI licence to say up to date. Having said that I would recommend your course to all, particularly outdoor enthusiasts and will be passing on your details to those at the NPA who deal with health and safety. You created a very positive and supportive atmosphere and the coaching progression and variety of styles and activity were great. I was intrigued by your idea of first aid training as a group development activity and I could well be in touch to talk about that in the future.
All the very best.

A thorough and enjoyable, sometimes entertaining, course. The basics were simply but thoroughly explained and plenty of practical demonstrations and exercises were incorporated.

WELL PRESENTED COURSE AND MADE VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND. TRAINERS WERE APPROACHABLE AND MOST HELPFUL. WOULD RECOMEND THIS COURSE.
A few words about the First Aid course last week. I reckon that it's the eighth course that I've done over the years, a list that has included St. Andrew's, I.W. Jones St. John's, ITC and REC - and it was by far one of the best that I've been on. It was practical, memorable and pragmatic - and that's exactly what you want for an outdoor course. Good fun too, so couldn't be better.

"Having attending what feels like every conceivable first aid course on the market, Active-Aid has been the first that has moved me to write in recognition of a very well thought out course, engaging from word go. Pete has obviously worked hard to put together a complete package that engages and stimulates the learner to ensure that learning is retained, backed up with excellent resources, top class grub and lots of craic. I'd be happy to recommend Active-Aid above any other provider I've experienced for a first aid programme."

This first aid course was the sixth I have attended in my career and I did not initially relish the idea of going through two days of being talked at and having a quick go on a resusiannie. It was therefore really gratifying to find myself both engaged and motivated by Pete Cunningham’s course. Pete’s course involved me as a learner in a way that works for me. There were lively debates, lots of hands on practice and the course was made relevant to me and the job I do. The venue and food contributed to the first first aid course I have ever really enjoyed.

Thanks for a great course Pete, it has given confidence to approach a casualty and have a good go, hopefully without making things worse. Hope to see you on the hill some time.

I have been on many courses, the standard of which varied hugely. The 1st Aid course by Peter Cunningham was excellent in every way. Tt was maximum hands-on, everyone being put at ease and given every opportunity to ask and answer questions, yet without pressure. It was delivered in an effective and non-patronising way. The scenarios were a really good way to put into practice everything we'd learnt, but at the same time kept light-hearted. I will certainly repeat my certificate with Peter in 3 years time!

'The course comprised a well balanced mix of skill revision and development, interspersed with regular realistic scenarios in the outdoor environment, whatever the weather! Whilst covering core life-support skills, course content was additionally tailored to the needs of the group. I departed with a renewed confidence to deal with the unexpected.'

"I thought the course was well paced, informative, up to date and real. You talked the same language as the participants and were always ready to answer questions, even out of context. It was agreat course, see you on the next one."

'An excellent two day 'hands-on' course, ideal for anybody working in an outdoor activity environment. Highly recommended'.
"A thorough and friendly preparation for mountain outdoor first aid."
“I am actively working in the outdoor industry and have been on numerous first aid courses. The course headed by Pete Cunningham was excellent. I particularly liked the way the course was structured: starting with the basic fundamentals of life support and building on them progressively in a non-threatening practical way. Throughout the course the basics were re-enforced as more complex issues were introduced. On reflection I feel that the knots of confusion from conflicting courses have been unravelled and the basics of practical first aid are clear in my mind.”

“It was an excellent course - the tutor was very interesting and informative, I feel I have learnt more because of the ‘hands-on’ approach to teaching – see you in 3 years”

I was pleased I chose Adventure Learning as a provider for a first aid course. The content of the two days covered everything I expected, with the added bonus of orientating first aid scenarios around outdoor situations where appropriate. The course director himself is an experienced outdoor activity provider therefore he integrated extra ideas or suggestions for a particular emergency.
After my recommendation to colleagues at the Lakes School and Sports College they since have also attended a course with Adventure Learning to compliment their PE teaching role and outdoor education involvement both in curriculum and extra curricular activities.
